Ryan was nagged by many people that members' tournies are too good compared to the average normal tournaments out there, and that non-members have no chance at getting a gold no matter how good they are.

So he listened to the masses and revamped the tourney schedule. He introduced "player's afternoon/evening/night" that copied the members' tournaments and now you see the same stuff every day.

In the process, he did away with the unique daily tournies like Monday 500, Friday 55, Thursday 2k and the Sunday Slam. You could argue that there are enough tournies already, introducing some more would mean that the regular tables would never fill.
