what's the deal with accounts leading to no page where one could read or leave reviews?

e.g. this player ' Azyraphale' did absurd moves like double base or cuts in freeroll tourney...
I encountered several situations of similar kind and usually they are obvious with strange play... suggesting some collaboration .. just wondering cause it seems more than just a coincidence |

at 5:26 AM, Tuesday January 20, 2015 EST Searching for that player you get this URL:
http://kdice.com/profile/45204877 Interestingly surfing there you are likely to get a server error (I tried a few times). message An exception occurred processing JSP page /WEB-INF/classes/org/iogc/templates/Root.jsp at line 157 Whatever is in that profile (if it is in the profile) - it's no fun for the server :-) |

at 6:42 AM, Tuesday January 20, 2015 EST No one said that there is absolutely no way to do it. It'd just take undue effort and result in very little gain. The hard part is you basically have to hack the server to get the player's IP, after that, making the player lag is relatively easy. Alternatively, you can try a DDoS attack against the server itself, but then the lag would affect all players, thus making it more suspicious and easily detectable.
Of course, server lags and people lagging is something that you might encounter quite often, but it's too random and unpredictable to benefit any particular player in the long run. This phenomenon is likely unrelated to the lags and might reflect a bug or a security vulnerability in the player profile page - forum - review system. Just because they can keep other people from accessing their personal profile pages, doesn't necessarily mean that they have access to the database where player ips are stored. |

at 7:05 AM, Tuesday January 20, 2015 EST There are other ways to get access to player IPs. There have been rogue mods in the past. Folks who complain about targeted lags have usually been on here a while. Add it up.

at 7:15 AM, Thursday January 22, 2015 EST I am quite calm. Actually I don't really care a lot, just find it interesting. It hasn't been 48 hours yet, but the error is still there:
HTTP Status 500 - An exception occurred processing JSP page /WEB-INF/classes/org/iogc/templates/Root.jsp at line 157 Regarding the "tone it down" hint, I thought that Spuh was way more out of line indicating that former mods were actively involved in targeted lags. That's quite more of a heavy accusation than claiming that those targeted attacks are difficult and hardly worth the effort. But maybe I got that wrong. I don't see the relation to the topic anyways. |

at 12:33 PM, Thursday January 22, 2015 EST The relation to the topic is this: this is a site that charges money (although optionally), and there are many indications that the code is compromised. All these charming helpful add-ons, all these strange tricks that can be performed that are acknowledged by mods because they are harmless, the response "why would it be worth trying?" to any suggestion of screwing with the code for less benevolent purposes in this dreadful age of everyone doing it for the lulls, these weird untraceable accounts -- this site is a mess, and what you pointed out is just another example of it. It's a shame -- a multi-player game based on Dice Wars is a nice idea.

at 2:58 AM, Friday January 23, 2015 EST I guess I'd get your point if paying wasn't optional. If you are not satisfied, don't pay. If you are upset too much, go a step further and just stop. If the shit was enough to get anybody to that reaction the remaining 10 addicts could keep battling for 1st amont their alts (that means 200 active players per month). This might not be too far away, I know.
