vFlags are still too powerful

I took a year off from the game and was pleasantly surprised to see the kill bonus enacted. But, the vflags is still the bain of this game. Signing off for another year. I don't think it will ever be fixed.

Start killing more people. Don't accept weak flags. Make people put up real flags and kill them if they don't. Play to win.

It doesn't take too many people doing those things to actually affect change.

I agree with Vermont.

All it takes is a few more people refusing weak flags or countering them.

I don't think you can completely get rid of vflags because it DOES sucks when you get an OK ish start but somehow you're the only one that ends up close to a person with scary big stacks. Not flagging probably means a quick death and vflagging probably means you get the chance to fight for the place you maybe deserve.

The problems is that some people just push weakflagging to extremes and ruin the game. It's also exploited in otf/pga situations where people only accept lame flags from friends but wouldn't even hesitate for a second to refuse to someone else in the same situation.

I would suggest a few things to keep vflags in check:

* don't flag before round 4: grow some balls, not every +1 roll wins and who knows, the other guy might be even more scared than you and won't hit you anyway. Also always double check if the person you're scared of can actually move his stacks towards you.

* don't flag until after your turn. You might get a lucky restack

* don't accept flags before round 4. If you do, at least take some lands (you might actually screw yourself and your dom in not expanding early)

* don't accept weakflags that you can wipe out easily without overextending. It's a wargame, you don't HAVE to be nice. If there is a big point gap and ppl could obviously roll for it, maybe leave the last land and let them roll.

If you want to be nice and accept a weakflag, at least grab 1/3 to 1/2 of their lands in exchange for accepting. It's still a win win for everyone:the acceptor can grow, the flagger survives and the other players aren't penalised with an overpowerful weakflagger

* if 2 ppl are in a same corner or area and one flags the other, it's obvious that everyone else becomes their new target so counter that truce

* if it's too hard to counter both or if everyone is forced to flag 1st too because of the weakflagger, COUNTER THAT WEAKFLAGGER! DAMMIT! 1st gets his expected 1st but at least the lame weakflagger doesn't get away with an undeserved 2nd.

nvm all that, everyone should just focus on my last point: kill weakflaggers first if you are forced to flag 1st as well because of the weakflagger.

If everyone helps in reducing the benefits of weakflagging, the problem will go away

IMHO diplomacy in the form of vflags, trucing, slient trucing is what makes kdice great. Want to play an average straight war game go play Risk.

I hate weak flagging - when i'm not the recipient of a weak flag or the weak flagger - just as much as the next person.

but unfortunately weak flagging is a great strat. i think good way to fix would be to incorporate some type of point loss for being killed. would give incentive for people to kill said person, and incentive for weak flagger to flagout of the game instead of being killed. Of course, there will be some chatboxing involved with this type of thing, but it's worth a try.

Jurgen please, if you're doing your job admins to think that it's okay that you're doing the job, of course you gave me ban for small things, and some nonsense, I signed up for the tournament by 500 points and can not play the PGA players that is unfair game, for me truce = PGA it is also seen so please solve the following players who have a total PGA players truceri, but most in the tournament ..
