I've finally finished the Chrome version of "Deadcode Tools".
I've created it as a stand alone chrome extension; this means that you do not need GreaseMonkey. Also the extension will automatically upgrade when future versions are released. IMPORTANT: Please be aware that a limitation of the Chrome version is that there is no permanent data storage area for extensions. This means that if you clear the history of your browser you will lose all your stored notes! So if you plan on using this; then dont clear your history. Soon a new version will be released that stores all the notes/data remotely so this issue will no longer be a problem. Install the Chrome version from here (screenshot available too): https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/lgncbldojojfelnpbdkmgnpnmnenkpab If you have no idea what this is; check out the thread that explains the tool: http://kdice.com/discussion/topics/44805947 |

at 4:02 PM, Tuesday May 24, 2011 EDT Check out the Task Manager in Chrome. It should tell you what the offender is when there is something slowing down the browser.
The add-on is very very lightweight; and doesn't actually interact with the game at all. The usual offender of the browser lag is Flash (the kdice board) itself. It's a resource hog. |

at 7:39 PM, Tuesday May 24, 2011 EDT Downloads and usage of the tool as exploded since the Chrome release. Looks like a majority of people are using Chrome.
I'm actually starting to prefer the power of the Chrome extensions over the Firefox GreaseMonkey platform. More to come soon. Those of you on the Chrome version have probably noticed that I integrated Captain KDice's tool into it. Basically the download link for Captain KDice's Auto End Turn is now advertised within Deadcode tools (DCT). This should hopefully help boost adoption of Captain KDice's tool (which is great btw). Plus it would be counter productive for me to create my own auto end tool for DCT while a great one already exists. I'm also hoping to integrate more community extension into DCT so please contact me if you have a tool that you want to advertise through DCT. Btw; I've been thinking a cool feature for DCT would be something that warns you of approaching tournaments; especially if you have joined. How many people have joined a tourny but forgot to sit; and was never warned by KDice. |

at 10:01 PM, Tuesday May 24, 2011 EDT Just released a new version for Chrome. It should automatically update for everyone with in a few hours (maybe sooner)
Current Features: 1. Record and view notes on any player without leaving the game. 2. Auto End Turn (via Captain KDice's add-on) 3. Highlights vflags in chat. Now the tool highlights flags within chat. This makes it easier to scroll through the chat and see the vflags. @monte "know what google account you downloaded with" Nope ", and ever send update emails, does it?" Nope |
