Thanks for sharing my ip info mods

I am kinda pissed because of the fact that the mods are telling random players what accounts are attached to one ip. Imo the job of a mod is to enforce the rules of this game, and not to be lame and tell to other players which alts belong to a certain main account. Its lame because it spoils the fun. Besides I wonder if its allowed to share my ip information with the community. I dont care if a mod knows where im from, but why share this information with the rest of us???? Imao the mods abuse their power, and that pisses me off!

So a mod told a few players in a chat, and you don't like people knowing, so you post the same info in the forum for all to read?

Your ip address is not your property. Site owners and administrators are free to do with it what they like.

That being said, I do agree with you that we probably shouldn't share certain things very often (like locations of players) unless we have a reason. No sense angering parts of the player base for no reason.

You and Jack the Ripper do have the same IP.

No IP was given out.

Issue?

So if you aren't the same person both accounts should be banned for account sharing?

unless they attend the same university (and thus connect to the same wireless network) or steal the same wifi or live in the same house.

Also despite moderators having powers to restrict the abilities of accounts, this is still a community moderated site and accusations of PGAing or cheating is investigated by more than just us moderators.

Informing players that care that yes two accounts are sharing the same IP helps people that want to discourage cheating and general douchebaggery.

If you want to play on alts to be a cunt, cheat or some other form of fucktardery I couldn't care less if I ruin your fun. I never give out exact locations or actual IPs. I might be a little more hesitant to even mention country of origin now, as that might be a fair point.

I do mind of course. But I do mind more about the fact that mods abuse their power, for the rest do a shitty job, and share private information about me and my ip. And some of that info is also written down in the forum by a mod. And besides if a mod tells Kehoe, I might as well put it on the forum... Same effect

What private information? The fact that two accounts are coming from the same IP? No address, street, city, county were given.

The fact that you list your country in your profile and that was the only piece of information I shared seems like this is a moot point.
