Why is there so many morons on kdice?

I have been playing kdice for the past... mmh 3 years I'd say. And I can't say why, but I see a lot more agressive players, whereas it is by words or by their game.
I play kdice because I love the simple concept of this strategy game and only that. I'm not here to virtually kill people or make myself believe that I own a sort of power. I can't stand anymore to be insulted and that my game is affected with players who have mental problems. I think that kdice would make a very good place for a thesis of psychology, but sadly I don't care, I just want to play in normal conditions. I'm a very fair player, and I have got some terrible reviews from unfair and insulting players, and that pieces me off. It would be so nice to make a sort of karma score, easily reachable to give grades to behaviours at each game to all players. And another thing I regret is that we can chat in private with only one player. I would say that I play with honour but that I looove to have that uncertainty that a player says "I flag" and maybe he will not! Just to say that i'm not complaining about backstabbers and newbies, just that it appears to often to play full strategy and that sucks. Sorry for my poor english. |

at 9:10 AM, Friday October 15, 2010 EDT It's not very practical to mute everyone to speak to only one.
As I said, if you add up: -angry players -insane players -newbies You have more than 50% of players not playing strategically And that's what I'm pointing at, besides the fact that there are too many insults. I would say that I dislike the score system because it doesn't represent what I play for. For me, the goal is to have the better place on one game. The average on all games of the month is a bonus. But as I said, more than 50% of players don't play neither the best place of the game, neither the average. They just play with the silly impulse of their twisted minds. The most incredible thing I see is from 1st players who say: "oh man, you took me a land with 2 dice on it to connect 10 turns ago, so I backstab you when you are fighting for a fair 4th place after i accepted your flag"... God what is this game about?? |

at 9:29 AM, Friday October 15, 2010 EDT muting won't help a thing since you need to be able to communicate during the game, even with the noobs/angry/insane
There are several ways to beat any type of player you mentioned, nothing with 100% succes rate but if some can get thousands of points, you should be able to do so too And who knows, maybe you make some obvious mistakes that get you killed all the time. Maybe someone with a bit experience should follow you a few games and give some advice |

at 9:56 AM, Friday October 15, 2010 EDT IMO playing with the noobs/insane IS part of the strategy. You have to plan for any and i mean any type of attack(strategy) from other players. It seems even if i have played the same player numerous times i just never know when he/shee will go all KDice rage all ever the place.
And as far as insults just grow some thicker skin. Its an internet chat. You will always get the internet tough guy trying to make himself feel superior to others. |

at 12:42 PM, Friday October 15, 2010 EDT I would love a karma rating for players - maybe add it to the ideas thread. Just need to think of the dimensions
Example: Agressiveness (1 - 10) would be like 1=Stoude - 10=panzer Mood/Temperment (1 - 10) 1=too nice(Vermont maybe?) 10 = insanely mad/angry at the world (someone like TheBetterYodel) Strategy (1 = just pure dice) (10 = extremely diplomatic) Willingness to flag (self explanatory) I'm sure ppl could come up with others/better dimensions... |
