Points before server opens?? Please explain.

So it is 8:45 am here, 15 minutes before the server opens for the month and 6 players have more than 2500 points. How is this?

at 11:04 AM, Friday October 1, 2010 EDT Yeah server was still active, I mean we played the last 5k past 2am EST I think. Points reset sometime before 4am EST and people kept playing the few maps that were open.
