Should it go to Young?

I'll give my 2 cents after I've read some responses.

If it came out that Bush had used steroids--a purely hypothetical possibility--then I would give it to Vince, because Bush's on-field performance would have been tainted.

Otherwise, Vince didn't earn it, Bush did...and blew it by accepting money/favors.

I've heard other people say that Vince deserved it after the championship game, but that's been a problem with the trophy regardless of this situation and does not apply.

No.

Bush or Vacant, I think Bush should have kept it.

The idea of amateurism in big name college sports is a farce. Seriously fuck the NCAA.

why did no one point out that abd spelled heisman wrong?

is it just because we have come to expect failure?

jp, I'm forced to agree with your judgement due to the incredibly large amount of evidence you have provided.

Either make them go to school and graduate or at least learn something or pay them. The fact that the NCAA, the Coaches, the Schools etc reap insane profits and these kids can have their life ruined for simply allowing someone to buy them dinner is abhorrent.

Yeah I'm with you, and to think that the coaches get paid millions... how much does Mac Brown get per year? Was it 8m? Do we even know the reasoning the NCAA has behind all these rules?

Anyway I don't think it should go to Young... we don't know if he was the 2nd best for a fact because of all the votes that went to reggie. How do you know if there was a revote that Lienart wouldn't have gotten more votes then Young with Bush out of the picture?

Sam I really don't think Reggie's life is ruined by this-- he's still a starting NFL RB, got a Super Bowl ring, a fat contract, and he stuck it in Kim Kardashian's pooper... I agree that it would be better if he could do something to repent for it or help the school/community, but they make the sanctions strict to discourage knuckleheads and ruin programs that allow it.

ABD are you really questioning why college athletes can't get paid??? (I really hope you have the intelligence to figure this out...)
or why college coaches make so much? Mack Brown only makes 5 mil (you've shown you can google how many looks TJ gets-- google Mack's salary next time), and the football program is the top revenue-making facet of UT. At most schools, the football program funds most of the athletic dept.

VY was a clear 2nd. he had over 2x the votes of Leinart-- with the majority of the votes going to Bush as 1st, VY as 2nd, and Leinart as 3rd-- http://www.manlyweb.com/sports/football/ncaa/heisman_votes.htm

in conclusion, stick to track.
