Wouldn't it be cool to have a heads up tourney or different types of tourneys that are derivatives of the game kdice. Also, more non-member tourneys which have 1,000,000 limits would be nice!

at 11:07 PM, Thursday August 12, 2010 EDT I know how to code, but would ryan consider having these new additions to kdice? Also, custom stake games would be fun. I don't know if I can just wait around for games anymore, which is why i suggest for more tourneys.

Heads up tourneys would be awesome, I love that stage. I would cap the max stakes but even a nostakes version would be great. Something else I would like is this: a 2,3 maybe up to 4 player multiday tourney with say 25 games at least (more is ok). Noone gets kicked out and plays every game. Winner is the person with most wins, etc etc for 2 3 4. It would need to be multiday, meaning you can pauze the tourney when anyone needs to leave. All players need to ok the next game. Lets put a 30 day limit to avoid 100000s of never finishing tourneys. This version is ment to be played with your friends ofcourse where you are sure they wont be bad losers and refuse to continue if they cant win anymore or team up on the person who has most wins already. It just needs some coordination on when to continue the tourney (when all would be present again) There is so much potential left for kdice and Ryan. We all know the time to improve is scarce. I sort of accepted that the current situation is what we will have to get by with for a long time to come. I just would like to know if there is any hope for anything or not. We could organise a poll to see what the kdice community would prefer to be added first. |

the deep problem with heads up, is that it is all to dependent on luck, because noone is THAT much better than everyone else |

But then again, any heads up ends up with a winner. I know luck is a big factor but I think that with over 20 games even a limited skill difference will be likely (guessing 8/10) to show in the end result. The more games you play the more likely the winner will be the best player. So I would agree on as many games as my opponent(s) would be willing to go. Something else I would include in heads up tourneys is this: say you agree on 20 games (absolute minimum). I would generate 10 random start positions and let both players play red and green once. So that results in playing the same 10 game tourney twice but you get your opponents position the second time. This would factor out part of the luck aspect. |
