What is "forced resign"?

Situation: Three players left,I am the strongest, next strongest has his flag up for 2nd, weakest player does not but is fighting 2nd flagged player for 2nd (with my ok). I am clicking end turn dutifully while this takes place.
All of a sudden game ends, I am awarded 3rd place, not 1st and weakest player wins. Results box says "forced resign in round 30". WTF is that? |
