the reason i am posting this on the forum is because not many ppl read the ideas page as oppose to the forum which is where this little debate originated...i would like positive feedback only please
on the ideas sections, someone left an idea where they said it would be a good idea to have tables for players under 1500 only, a few agreed but i threw this in2 the equation..."but for u ppl who are under 1500, playing against ppl who are 16+ and more, u will get more ELO as to playing players that are rated 1300 for example. i make an effort to play players that have a better ELO than me because i win more points... just a tip...look for better ELO's and u may break 1500 again...haha gl with that!" dan:s argued (friendly debate) have a look...http://aplayr.com/kdice/kdice/ideas/make%20a%20table%20where%20only%20people%20that%20have%20under%201500%20can%20go./ i would just like to know if u guys believe that playing better players than yourselves improves your game and makes u a better player...i do...or playing against players of lower or equal elo is better for your game...dan:s does... who goes? u decide... x |

at 2:24 PM, Monday April 30, 2007 EDT I don't necessarily think that it helps me to play higher ELO players. It's more comfortable, since they know what they're doing.

at 7:50 PM, Monday April 30, 2007 EDT I don't think playing against better players will make you better, because if they are out playing you you might not understand why things are turning bad until it's too late.
I do think you can learn a lot by WATCHING better players. This way you can see the game from everyone's perspective without being distracted by worrying about seeing all the moves from one color's viewpoint. This way you're more likely to notice things like, "oh green exposed himself when he took those weak lands but yellow can't really exploit it because he would also have to expose himself in the process." |
