The "Counter All?" Trend

I've noticed that in almost every game I've played in the 1800s, after any truce made, some player will ask for everyone else to counter. I can see where this might be useful in a blatent 1-2 truce situation, but most of the time its just lame as hell.

Yeah. I had three people truce against me when I was in first once. They thought it was fair, since I had 11 territories, but, they combined to 19! I know that situation has no previous truce involved, but, people think that if you dominate as first., or seem strong combined, all efforts must be done to kick your ass.

seeing as truces are unfair towards others, any way you can counter them is fair. a weaker player can sacrifice himself so the trucers get beat up pretty good, or everyone else can counter. all is fair when someone truced.

Hmmm. Interesting. You HATE truces. But, will do ANYTHING to counter them. Hypocracy, I think? Truces ARE legitamate, since, this is an open chat game, and Ryan even has advocated it.

Winning Solo is great, but, almost impossible in certain circumstances.

I am a great beleiver in the AAA: Alliance Against Alliances (aka Counter truces). For me "lame" is where players truce when they don't have the patience or skill to keep going. Sure there are situations where a truce is needed but its getting to the stage where playing a full game rarely happens.

Frequently, an actual truce is not even necessary. A player might offer truce and someone starts spamming "ALL COUNTER THE DIRTY TRUCERS!!!" before the other person even responds. In fact, there need not be an actual truce offered, it can be as simple as "hey yellow, go east and don't crush me please"

This twitchy counter-trucing is ruining diplomacy in kdice. The perpetrators are a gang of no-good hooligans that I want very much to be a part of.

If only there were a way to avoid having people counter-truce against you. If only there were something you could avoid doing which would solve this problem.

Hart... truce?

I love truces, they are beautiful things to behold. I wish people would offer them to me more instead of assuming I want to pillage everything in sight just cuz I, yknow, usually do.

hypothetical situation:
blue/brown have 1 territory each, on opposite sides of the map, and will likely finish 6 and 7. blue says to brown, HEY LETS TRUCE. brown says back, YES, WE WILL WIN, MWAHAHAHA. at this point most people would chuckle along with them out of sheer pity. not me. i say COUNTER ALL, BITCHES! and then congratulate the counter when we smite the truce.

its actually a new trend in kdice humor. to outsarcasm someone. like if i ever get involved in one of those sweet sort-of-silent truces, where i notice my neighbor spare me an early 6v5, and he/she goes south and lets me go north, then we dont attack each other until we are 1/2, then someone finally realizes, HEY WAIT A SEC, 1 AND 2 ARENT ATTACKING EACH OTHER!!!, someone else will jump in and claim YALL ARE PGAING. ZOMG! PGAS! to which i have learned the best reply is not to deny it, not to explain the intricacies of trucing by action (without giving it away in the chatbox)... no, my favorite reply is DAMN YOU GOT US. WE TOTALLY PGAd. YOU WANT IN ON IT NEXT GAME???
