Forum

A separate section of the forum to report rule breakers.

It has gotten to the point, in my opinion, that the forum is no longer a place to talk about kdice. Now just about every other topic is an accusation.

Nothing is wrong with the accusations but they don't seem to belong in the "discussion" section.

Maybe this new section does not have any replies, just a form to fill out. They could also be invisible to all ordinary players. See Grunvagr's latest advisor post.

This idea is not very original, as it was mentioned by people before, but I haven't seen a formal idea about it. So let's give it a try shall we?

9 people think this is a good idea

The point about the racist/xenophobic accusations is that there would be far less if the mods actually got off their fat asses and did something.

Its not rocket fucking science.

Oh I was thinking about this a little bit.

In context of what Ryan has recently posted about advisor's duties maybe this isn't the best idea. A separate forum for this kind of thing would seem like an invitation to report any little slip in the community for some.

So would this kind of thing really help the community or just make it more policed? It would save the "discussion" section but would it cause harm the lax feel of kdice?

It would probably require more advisors for one thing.

Opinions?
Feel free to discuss, I'm open to more ideas.

Rifty,

The advisors have lives outside of kdice. They can't be trolling tables 24/7 like some computers waiting for somebody to say something bad. They have other jobs, friends, and family. On top of that, there are not many of them either so cut them some slack. I don't know the inner workings of Ryan's mind, but I don't think he's planning on hiring full time mods either.

I'm just saying with this idea that it could bring accusations to a more formal level to them, and make their jobs a little easier.

Wicked, there are at least 2 mods, maybe more? Am I right?

At a quick glance there are maybe 15 new threads a day, max, most of which aren't accusations at all, and which the mods can ignore.

Now, I've prevuiously assumed that our mods are past kindergarten age, and therefore able to get through 3 or 4 threads a day, altho I'm not so fucking sure now.

Rifty, don't be a tool. I agree completely with Grun's stated position that he will only take disciplinary action when he actually witnesses the offensive behavior. Relying on the, perhaps, inaccurate or malicious representions of other players is unacceptable. I do think that the mods could compile a list of reported offenders and search for them in order to monitor their behavior and, if they witness blatantly offensive behavior, take appropriate action.

In the meantime, you have stated your opinion repeatedly, we get it, now please give it a rest.

Rifty that's the problem: the accusations on the forums are not always legitimate. Threads are not enough to take action. Notice I didn't say anything about trolling the forums. I meant the game.

The only safe way to take action is if it is witnessed. Maybe this new section would be a way to make sure the accusations are authentic.

It's still just an idea, and I just wanted to throw it out there.

what's the point of reporting if no boday gives a damn to ban them?
