Here aremy arguments:

1) Tables fill up faster.

2) I think the new scoring system is better suited to five versus seven players. While the current system is very good for the middle and late stages of the game, it unfairly punishes people who get unlucky early on.

3) An Elo-based scoring system makes more sense with fewer players.

4) We can finally get rid of the yellow/gold color.

I don't see anything magical about seven players. I'm not saying five is magic either, but I think it would be better.

The option for five is a better idea. If it was only five there may be a lot more activity, which can be bad, but what do I know? Seriously, I'm just a guy with an opinion.

For the social aspect of the game its better to have more players. What about fitting more territories on the map?

I think having different tables with different amounts of people would benefit everyone. Maybe even just implementing two different types (5 and 7 players) to see how it works. I also like the idea of more territories on a map. The map could be tailored to the amount of players. Like 35 territories for 7 players but only 25 for 5 players.

I'd probably like more territories. Probably.

With regards to #2, it balances out, sometimes the starting position helps you.
