If you like the game, donate!

I get a bit tired of people making suggestions of things that Ryan should do, especially time intensive things like reviewing chat and avatars for offensive behaviour, yet few players have apparently ever donated. (Yes I know that some may have donated under another profile, or the star hasn't showed up yet, but it seems that only a very small percentage of players have actually donated.)

So, put up some cash for a game that gives you hours of fun, and you'll get a nice pretty star next to your name on the game board and on your profile page, too.

I totally agree, If you think $5 is a lot, look at how many games you play and see what it works out to. I am shocked how may times I sit down, and people ask what the star is for. I think in all the time I have been playing I have seen 6 with stars sitting down.

If you don't donate you had better be a poor college student. Otherwise, you either have a real adult job, or hit up mommy and daddy for 5 dollars, or even just gank a credit card out of mommy's purse. Either way, you spend way more at Hot Topic every weekend. Do not try to lie and say otherwise; you know you do.

United Way does good work, and I understand that it's difficult for some to give online, but do you mean to tell me that some of the 21st Century Digital Generation does not have Paypal or at least some plastic? Heresy! j/k, but what about mommy and daddy? If they say no, just compare it to the cash dad forks over for Scotch and strippers, and mom spends on knitting supplies and Zanax. (That's another of y jokes- I know that not every marriage is perfect ;)

Seriously though, if you've played 100 games then $5 and any inconvenience is still a great deal. So give or don't give. Heck, it's freeware, and no one is forcing you to do anything.

i do appreciate that you take this initiative to remind people to donate. however, your tone sounds like "GIVE ME MONEY OR DON'T COME MAKE SUGGESTIONS AND BITCH".

i am sure if ryan wants to hear from donors only, he will make that happen. i just come here to play and for me, i have no say in how ryan wants to run this site. i make suggestions, but it's up to him to decide what to do. he doesn't have to listen to any of my suggestions.

i am actually quite tired of some people who come here and tell people what to do (unless you are taking about abusive and offensive behaviour). i respect that these people are probably friends of ryan, spend 10 hours or more here everyday, love and support this site, has high ranking in everything, and their intention is good in that they just want this site to be enjoyable for everybody (or may be for them). ryan is probably using these loyal fans as some kind of a community watch. that's great. all your contributions are very valuable. BUT, this is ryan's site and i respect the way he wants to run it. and i think saying all those who don't donate are POOR is a tad mean.

Hey now x3, you're drawing some conclusions I did not intend. I know some folks simply can't afford to donate; to think otherwise would be pigheaded solipsism. I'll also agree that donating makes someone's input more "worthy" than others. Shoot, I donated, but I'm still a big jackass who mostly spouts nonsense. You cannot deny, however, that while there are much better things to pay for than kdice, it is an alright one, vis a vis The Plough's very good point.

accountx3,

You said, "...i do appreciate that you take this initiative to remind people to donate. however, your tone sounds like "GIVE ME MONEY OR DON'T COME MAKE SUGGESTIONS AND BITCH"."

If you read my post that started this, I have no idea how you infer that tone. I think I was quite clear that I was suggesting that people should have the courtesy to tip Ryan $5 for giving them a fun game to play, and that expecting Ryan to make changes that would be extremely time intensive, is a bit presumptuous, especially if you aren't willing to make the very small sacrifice of $5.
