why points for rank in a game are not ascending ?

in a game , I was second :
I get +12 for second place But the third get +15 for being third !!!??? how points are awarded for ranks now I thought it was something like : 1 : +20 2 : +10 3 : +5 4 : 0 then negative scores for the others... Any clue ? |

If you play against people with a higher ELO, you get more points for winning and less for losing. If you play against people with a lower ELO, you get less for winning and more for losing
